Your Favorite Self Care?

I first was introduced to the retro Jazzercise trend by a dear friend around 2009. I had a blast attending classes for a year in Kenosha, WI. It was the first workout I loved even with my two left feet. After a year I felt like I lost at least some of my two left feet. It was very difficult for me when we moved to Chicago and found it hard to get to classes. I was in the best shape of my life. I tried to stay healthy, nothing really seemed to work for me. The stress of life took over and won for a season. We then moved to Dallas, again I tried to go, and again it didn't work out. 2020 came a year we might all call the worst. Yet I hear many say even with all the hardships, disappointment, and sadness of loss in many forms it has been the best year. I think many came to find appreciation in the little things. I know I did and I was determined to do what I could to end the year strong! By what feels still like a miracle I found my way back to Jazzercise! No matter what happens, my body is one of the many ways I will end this year stronger! I hope that you find ways to end this year strong! Being strong and healthy lets me do what I love most through photography. I desire to show others their authentic value, strength, and beauty. I hope to empower others through a fresh viewpoint.

In Kenosha, WI I loved attending Jesse Avery's classes. If you are in the Kenosha area I highly recommend trying a class!

I wanted to introduce you to the beautiful owner of the Lake Highland's Dallas, TX Jazzercise location, Luanne Peek Field. If you are in the area come to join us for a class or find one near you! She has many amazing instructors at her location!

Luanne's Jazzercise Story:

I've been Jazzercising since 1990. Got certified to teach in 1996 and became the owner of this studio in 2011. I was active when I was younger, but I wouldn't say I was "fit". Jazzercise was the first thing I did that I absolutely loved - it was just so much fun! Sticking with it and becoming more fit (I'm fitter now at 59 than I was in my 20's) led me to other exercises I love as well: cycling, hiking, yoga. I became an instructor because... I am SO passionate about lifting other women up. Being the owner of this studio is one of the greatest gifts of my life. Helping other women believe in themselves, get stronger, reach their goals, become more confident, let go of all the "should's" - that fires me up! The bonus is that we have built such a strong community and sisterhood at our Lake Highlands studio. That is probably the thing I am MOST proud of!

"SARAH!!!! These are so wonderful that it made me cry a little! You make me feel BEAUTIFUL! I generally feel strong, fit, but not...beautiful so much. But here I feel like a model! Thank you, thank you, thank you... And I can't really pick a fave. I like so many for different reasons. I love the action shots with my arms up and that sassy walk towards you. But also love some of the headshots and the laughing ones. I can't wait to share these..." Luanne Peek Field, Jazzercise Franchise Owner/Instructor.

What do you love to do for your self-care? I would love to hear your story? Is it working out and if so what type of workout? We are all unique in what inspires us to keep going each day. We need personal self care to have extra to give out to others.
